1. Why do I get a separate bill from Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates, PA, (MEMA)?
Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates, PA, (MEMA) is a private, independent physician practice that partners with Novant Health to provide emergency and acute care at 3 Charlotte area hospitals. Patients seen in the Emergency Department of Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, and Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center will receive a bill from Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates, PA, (MEMA) for the professional services, those charges associated with the Emergency Medicine Physician, Physician Assistant and /or Nurse Practitioner who treated the patient in the Emergency Department. The patient will also receive a bill from the hospital where they were treated for other services associated with their hospital visit. Patients may also receive a bill from other physicians who may have consulted with the Emergency Medicine provider regarding their care.
2. How do I get a copy of my bill and explanation of the charges?
Patients can request a copy of their bill and ask for an explanation of charges by calling 1-877-713-7612. The Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates, PA, (MEMA) Administrative office staff provides administrative support to our Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, not to patients or the general public, therefore our Administrative staff does not have access to billing or medical record information.
3. How do I get a copy of my medical records?
Medical Records can be obtained by contacting the Medical Records Department of the hospital where the patient was seen in the Emergency Department.
